Considering one for general use, commuting, half/full day rides. Basically to take the weight off the back and onto the bike. Need to take tools, jacket, food, bits and bobs and on the way home, cans of beer and something to eat.

Bikes to go on; inbred 29er&26er/singlespeed/gravel bike/ unicycle/zimmerframe

Same thinking as you, couple of years ago got a revelate frame bag (as well as a top tube fuel pod thing and a handlebar roll doo-da for some over nighters ) – been amazing. Gets absolutely manky, just take it off and hose it down whilst cleaning the bike. It’s awesome! Never use a backpack at all now.
