I haven’t bothered with either so far but am thinking I should – wouldn’t buy both together unless I can get a good deal.

So can the STW collective mind guide me:
    – if i buy separately which should I get first?
    – are Garmin and Go-Pro the default choices or are there are others I should be considering?
    – which makes/models would you recommend?

As for budget I can usually justify most things to myself if I try hard enough and my riding is a mix of on and off road.

Let me know – and thanks….in advance

What do you want the camera for? I use a Garmin 810, which is excellent, and a Fly 12 camera light for security. I don’t bother saving the videos unless there is something unusual. Garmin virb will synch with a Garmin computer and you can then overlay stats. My Fly 12 can, but needs an ios phone. I can’t be bothered!

Dcrainmaker is the place for reviews. He’s a bit of a Garmin Go Pro fanboi, but the depths of his reviews are peerless.

value for money I would look at,
    Lezyne for GPS/bike computers
and Silver label for camera, been trying one myself, not bad for £90!
