    I notice a few of the LED modifiers have large slabs of the loopy velcro on the top of their helmets. Is this for attaching lights or does it serve some other purpose like anti-slip or thermal insulation from hot alu light casings?

    cant speak for others but mine keeps the home made mount for the old P7 torch in place (along with a big velcro starp round the whole lot.
