Wifey wants to go cycling this bank holiday but the route must be pretty and fairly easy. She’s bored with the local common and Richmond Park and preferably no more than an hours drive from SW London. Any ideas???

Swinley? Start with laps of the green

Millions of people will be there too (probably)

Along the Thames to Weybridge. Finish with a nice pub lunch, train home. (It’s what I always did with my OH)

The Ridgeway? Great views, not too technical and relatively uncrowded

Have a look at the area around St Martha’s near Guildford. It’s lovely over there, quiet, easy trails and very scenic. You’ll need to be creative with a map to put a route together but its perfect for your needs. There will be others around but likely wont see many other bikers.

Downs link is lovely. It’s a bit ‘out and back’ but its all flat and there are plenty of nice pubs along the way.

Give the Devils Punchbowl a go. Utterly beautiful there at the moment.

Parking at Thursley is free and easy. There are some hills around there but you can quite easily find quiet gentle trails. Cafe at the top for tea & cake, with plenty of nice pubs around if you fancy something a bit more substantial (esp. The Three Horseshoes at Thursley).

Punchbowl is rather uppy and downy, its great but your misses will hate you after 3 mins.
Hursley is flatter , As is Ash ranges . Swinley blue / green? If Farnham is reachable then Alice Holt sounds ideal. Do not go to QECP , she will hate you within 2 mins and there are Ninja trees that move so fast you cant avoid them.
Andover too far? Test Valley tour route would be great and someoen can gpx it probably .

Virginia Water? Chobham Common? Windsor Great Park?

Edit: Watership Down is gorgeous with stunning views. Agree about The Ridgeway, perhaps starting from Lambourn to access the Downs.
