    Evening. I don’t care for the thinnest and most expensive that money can buy but then I don’t want carrierbag type material.

    I’ll only be used in winter so not a biggy anyway.

    Berghaus deluge is on a short list, anything else?

    If you want tough then look at mountaineering salopettes, they are designed to withstand crampon damage etc, but it all comes at a price.

    Paramo Cascada at least if you rip the outer pant you just stitch them up Nikwax and carry on plus think they’re also covered on Paramos lifetime warranty……which I’ve used on a 2 year old jacket before when a zip failed.

    Get on ebay and look for Royal Mail waterproof trousers or DPM military stuff. It’s the cheapest and most rugged Goretex stuff you will get. My Royal mail trou are 4 years old and I wear them every day in the winter months working outside. Even barbed wire fences havent tore them.
