    How do folks,

I’m planning on entering a race series next year and wondered what people might recommend?

I’ve found the BC National Cross Country MTB Series and am tempted.

I’ll be riding single speed and rigid btw.

    Any thoughts?

Local xc series? Where are you based? I can hold my own in the sport category at local level (or could when I was training) national level is a whole different ballgame.

Midlands based. I’d obv be entering the appropriate category 🙂

You have a local XC series run by Midlands XC. Look on xcracer for a full calender.

Midlands XC series is an excellent series. There ‘may’ be one or two rigid ssers there….not many though, and I’ve never seen any at a national xc race.

Midlands XC over Nationals I’d say for a first race, more chilled, less serious, more newbies. Courses tend to be easier, could be a good or a bad thing…

Rigid SS will be fine if that’s what you normally ride. You won’t be alone at a Midlands and may well see another one at a National race.
