Don't know why, but fancy watching a decent Zombie flick tonight, I know, is there such a thing?

Pass on Shaun of the dead, brain dead comedy type.

looking for a proper budget 80's we are all going to die flick?

    Ta.

Evil Dead, REturn of the living Dead – but comedies.

The recent re-make of the Mall one was ood I thought (and by the grandaddy, of only I was cool enough to wear glasses like he does)

    EDIT –

    a proper budget

sorry – ignore that recommendation 🙂

The original Dawn Of The Dead, one of the few films I can watch again and again.

Dawn of the Dead – obvious classic

Day of the Dead – worth a watch too.

28 days later (Zombie flick?) is always worth a watch

    Re-animator for a laugh

Braindead for the aussie twist on a Zombie Flick!

Zombie Flesh Eaters – low budget gore fest

28 days later is my favorite.

    scary fast zombies 🙂

i bought a film called outpost the other day, but havent watched it yet.

Modern Special forces team hole up in a WWII bunker while in stealth mode and find nazi zombies in the basement.
    ROCK!

    you got an Xbox360 perchance?

"left 4 dead" is an awesome multiplayer zombie game.

basicly legging it through linear levels dodging, dragin each other and hacking quick zombies

    +1 dawn of the dead – bikers+zombies+custard pies=classic
and of the sequels, lunchtime of the dead, elevenses of the dead, teatime of the dead….
+1 reanimator and the sequel are hilarious
Bad Taste although arguably the zombies are aliens

Another recommendation for the original Dawn of the Dead, or Night of the Living Dead (which can be watched for free online as it's out of copyright).

28 days later starts well, but like most Alex Garland plots it gets lost half way through.

Bit left-field but I really liked C4s Dead Set – Big Brother meets Shaun of the Dead. A lot more realistic than the usual American zombie films and even the mrs who hates both Big Brother and my Zombie film obsession liked it…

To quote someone's Youtube comment for Dead Snow "Nazis+Zombies=About f**king time!"

    Outpost got there first though.

However, unlike us Brits, Norwegians actually watch their own home grown cinema.

    Outpost got there first though.

And this, which really isn't worth bothering with:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076704/

Romero's films are unusual for zombie films in that they have a bit of humanity to them. If you're not bothered about that and just want to watch something really nasty, I'd recommend anything by Lucio Fulci, this in particular:

That Dead Snow looks good. The 'dead' in Outpost were not that dead looking. Good film though.

I liked the remake of Dawn of the dead. Also Romero's Land of the dead. To add some comedy to it for a low budget flick Flight of the living dead. Low budget, but a genuinely good low budget zombie flick.

A bit off topic is a film called The Abandoned. IMDB didnt find it that great but I think that it was more original than a lot of horror flicks these days. Its the subtley of it all that freaked me out!

    not really zombies, but werewolves…

    Dog Soldiers!

    Quotes from IMBD:

Sergeant Harry Wells: My guts are out Coop!
Cooper: We'll just put 'em back in then!
Sergeant Harry Wells: They're not gonna **** fit!
Cooper: Of course they'll fit, man!

    Megan: What happened?
Spoon: What happened? We were attacked by huge ****' howlin' things, that's what.

Cooper: [after Wells has had his intestines exposed] How are you feeling?
Wells: A touch of gas. And the fact that various body parts are trying to vacate the premises, **** awful.

    [Upon landing in the chopper]
Wells: I want a good, clean dispersal. I want a secure landing-zone. Go go go go go. Joe, get outta the pissin' chopper.
Joe: I'm not missing the footy for this. It's totally bone. I'm not goin', Sarge. I'm not goin'.

Its one of my favorite films!
