Actually I use to have a S2 and that was nice, an S3 would be worth a punt

I’ve seen quite a bit of negative stuff, but really liked my Superstar headset too, on the flip side I’ve never got on with On-One Smoothie headsets.

althugh looks much heavier than the superstar one, which looks better value

Orbit MX’s are only £20 at Planetx. People seem to rate them. I would get one if they had silver.

Does it have a button to adapt to new new head tube standards?

I have one of those pigs and it’s doing well. Bonus (for me) is that it’s deep insert cups so deals with flared head tubes well.

+1 for the Orbit MX at On One / Planet X for less than £20 at the moment. Work fine and don’t weigh too much. Seem quite well sealed too.

Much like the £12 FSA Pig then, I’ve got one on a 2003 Stumpjumper I failed at killing.

It’s a stupid headset for an XC hardtail, but I can’t justify another one until I can kill the damn thing. The bearings are like meatballs.

My S2 lasted about a month….I’d go FSA.

Second hand hope or ck. Failing that something with sealed bearings.

Cane Creek S3 or S8, FSA Orbit-as-long-as-it’s-got-cartridge-bearings. Not the cheapest but for £10 or so more than the cheapest, you get top drawer performance. I’ve had Hope, they’re much the same, just 3 times as expensive. And I’ve had Cane Creek, see below…

Pretty good chance you’ll need to buy a new fork steerer, though 🙁
