I need to get my beard cut down to a manageable length prior to shaving and pretending to look like a normal like a normal person.
With that in mind I'm looking for a beard trimmer/remover. I want something that will cut down close to the skin without taking chunks of flesh out of me. It also needs to be rechargeable. What can you recommend ?
whatever boots or tescos have for half price in an effort to shift before the newer ones come out at xmas and are advertised on the tv 
i've got a philips one i think, cost about 15quid, came with attachments for various types of shaving and hair cutting. quick to recharge. simple!

I picked up something or other - Remington, I think - from TK Maxx based on it being a make I'd heard of at a comedy price.
Does the job, though my criteria weren't extensive; not sure as I'd want to stick it anywhere sensitive.

I also have a 'Wahl' one that I bought in similar circumstances. It's smaller and has ceramic (I think) blades, so unlike the Remington it's safe to use without the guard; the downside is that the battery's pooched now and has a life of about a minute from a full charge.
That hedge does somewhat resemble my current face foliage.

A look on Wahl's website would suggest that their new Li-Ion powered clipper has a runtime of an hour and 40 minutes. WTF would you be shaving that took 1h40, Bill Oddie?
i never use the guard and i definitely dont have ceramic blades, if i stop posting on this forum, its not cos i've flounced, its cos i've died.
(for what its worth my 2 cheapy philips ones have lasted about 9 years and no noticeable loss of battery life... only replaced the first one cos my housemate broke the first)

Maybe it's just that the Wilky is particularly aggressive then (or, possibly, I'm an oaf). I've nicked myself with it before now and it's not pleasant.

Many years ago to continue to treat the world to as naked a treat as the incredibly good looking face of joy can produce, I purchased a set of Professional Wahl beard trimmers, they've lasted incredibly well and when the upper level became decidedly reluctant to sprout they proved useful in that regard.
So if it's designer stubble chin or bonse, they are the mutts nuts.
If only I could find an electric razor their equal..

In an odd coincidence, I bought some of these last night. Boots has some half price thing going on at the mo.
Had a cheapy phillips thing for ages, did the job, until I lost the charger.
The Wahl appealed becuase I have to remember to charge it up less often.
It also appealed becuase it comes with a foils attachment, so I can close shave my top lip without having to find my other shaver. It does the lot see?
Dedicated beard/stubble shavers are way better than reg shavers with long hair attachments IME, as they always spaff up after a while.
