steep going up from the south east, hits 15% for several ramps. Great fun though but hard after 70 miles and in the heat of April...
Anybody taken an MTB up the track to the radio tower which must be the highest point although not on the tarmac road?
Closest thing to an alpine pass in Britain but still a country mile off!
Whatever way you do it it will be memorable. Enjoy.
Going to do it next year, so will no doubt be asking whats the best way to do it and other advice nearer the time. Mind you i have to loose 2 stone before i will tackle it!!
advice?
keep pedaling and try not to spew
Fog, I have. On a different occassion to the time I did the sportif. It was cool up there, stunning views. On the way back it was what you'd expect, a loose fireroad. I ended up riding the rocks off the side which were quite interesting. I remember taking some photos that day but have no idea where they would be.
