I’ve just picked up my new Whyte T-130 S Yari which is running a SRAM GX S1000 GXP, 30T, 11 Speed crankset. I was wondering is it’s worth getting a bashguard/chain guide for it and if so which one? Is it a case of ride is and see if it gets bashed or if the chain falls off before getting one or would you normally run one on this setup? Thanks

I use a blackspire bruiser on my 11 speed set up. After smashing a chain in a race with a flying rock i thought i would invest. Great bit if kit. As for chain guides i have never dropped a chain in 2 years so i have never felt the need.

I like Blackspire too, there’s the Bruiser, as above, or the Trail 1x with a top guide. You would have to be full-on gnarrcore to need a full guide.

I’ve fitted an MRP AMG v2 to my new Reign, works great – just have a problem wondering how they can justify £95…..

I’d ride without and see how it goes.
