I’ve been riding for years with carbon low riser bars at 26 inches on a medium frame. Just picked up a new hardtail, 19 inch frame with 27 inch bars. The difference seems considerable and I’ve bumped a few obstacles that normally I would sail by. Is it simply the extra bar width (which at ony 1 inch seems unlikely) or the slightly different style of steering that would cause this? Any observations on the relative benefits of different bar widths would be gratefully received.
