Recomend me a front back up light for use when my L+M one dies for use on road only and prob doing trail side repairs ta

Always handy to have the Tesco 1w AA torch handy for trailside repairs and as a backup, probably not the best comuting light though as it not to visible from the side. Them tiny backupz lights are also nice to have on the bars.

I also use a Tesco torch as my back up light (mainly commuting) and have got it on my helmet where is is good aslong as its not raining or misty. There is a tip in this months MBR that shows how to make a glow ring for torch type lights.
