“Are You Tough Enough?” Sunday 3rd July 2011
It’s back and ready to rock you!
The 6-4-2 hour enduro race that is now supported by those fab people at Merida Bikes, and promises to be the UK’s toughest funfest of enduro racing!
“Are You Tough Enough?’ is back, but are you ready for it???
Heading for those classic trails and whoops and swoops of Porridgepot Hill, the 2011 edition of the ‘AYTE’ promises to be the best yet. We’ve pimped up the course adding even sweeter singletrack, and more fun inducing descents but remember where there’s a ‘ying’ there has to be a ‘yang’ so look out for the leg stinging ‘Concrete Hill’, a test for all those whippet racer boys n gals out there. Don’t forget Porridgepot Hill is no pushover, it’ll be a challenge that will push up to your limit and bring you back grinning ear-to-ear begging us for more!
We’ve something for everyone on the 8 mile loop whether you’re a hardened Enduro nut or a marathon riding first timer, or even a singlespeed demon., ‘Are You Tough Enough?’ delivers ‘dirty’ fun by the bucket load!
    Entries:
This event is open to all abilities including Single speeders. No license is required for racing, just an attitude for fun. A single lap race is available as an enduro taster for those who wish just to chill out and enjoy the day.
Make sure you enter by the 28th June to ensure you get the best price and a fast track to your number board, though entries will be available on the day, you’ll have to join the queue and get ready to hand over an extra £3.
    Race Times:
The racing kicks off at 10.30am with the 6 hour riders, followed 2 hours later by the 4 hour riders, then being joined by the 2 hour riders at 2.30 pm while the fun riders will get stuck in at 3.30pm.
The aim is you all finish together and all get a chance to grab a fab spot prize, though remember you have to be there to win it, so don’t slope off straight away! Take a break, grab a cuppa and a bacon buttie, chat about your ride and get ready to win!
    Facilities:
To make your pre race and post race as enjoyable as possible we will have Mule Bar and For Goodness Shakes offering samples of their delicious goods, though of course there will also be hot and cold refreshments available from the catering people. If you’ve enough energy you could spend some time browsing the trade stands and treat yourself to some bike blling.
    Results:
Provisional results will be available on the day and a full listing of results will be available on TimeLaps by the time you get home, or on our website later.
