  • Avid Juicy bleed kit on SRAM Guide R's?

    Hi All

I have a bleed kit for my previous Juicy 5’s, can I make this work for my new SRAM Guide R’s? From the pictures of a new bleed kit it looks pretty much the same, is there any difference? I guess I might need a different block for the caliper?

    Cheers

I’m not sure. I used the same one for Avid Elixir and Guide RS.

If the Guides have the latest caliper you need a different attachment to bleed the caliper I believe.

The new calipers have a bleed port covered by a plastic cover at the opposite end to the hose end.

A quick Google picture search will show you.

I think the new calipers are referred to as S4’s I think.

ok, my kit has blocks for the Elixir so that’s part of it answered!

Not sure if I have the S4 calipers or not, I’ll have to have a look when I get home.

Anybody know if the bleed kit can be converted (if I have S4 calipers) or do I need to bin it and start again?

Dunno, but if you do need a new bleed kit – have a look for Epic Bleed Solutions.

I got my Shimano bleed kit from there & it’s spot on.

The Bleeding Edge adapter is what you need.. comes with some of the Avid bleed kits, or you might be able to just cut the end off and use on your own kit (if the pipe fits).
