Just got hold of a pair of each and was wondering if anyone new which were best for trail/xc riding. I know Hope are the brand to have and they seem really well made and serviceable but had really good feedback from people using the Juicy 7's. Any help from someone who has had both!! Pro's and con's for each brake system.

    Thanks for your help.

The Juicy's would be best for XC/Trail riding as they are lighter than the Hope M4's.

Not really a fair comparrison as the Juicy's are 2-piston and the Hope's are 4-piston.

Unless you're 20+ stone then 4 pots are overkill for XC/Trail.

Regarding the Juicy's, I like them. They are easy to bleed but it is a faffy process. They have good modulation and progressive feel. The pads are arkward to change as you need to take the wheel out. Not a bad weight. Happily used them in the Alps for a couple of years.

Juicy 7's I've got are nice. The M4s I had were shite. HTH.

I have had m4's for a few years now and I like them. They are a tad lardy but so am I. If you spend a little time setting them up then they will stop a train. If not then at best they are average.

    Had Juicy 7's………

    Nightmare to bleed!
Nightmare to change pads out on the trail
Could never get the bite point adjustments set right
The CPS system is great in theory…but in practice never worked

    Now got Hope TechM4s……

Easier to bleed…without a need for any expensive bleed kit!
Easier to change pad (just a bolt)
    Adjustments work flawlessly
    The CPS system works
    They are lighter!
    They look better
    And have more power!!!

Had my Juicys for 15 months now, never bled them and they are great. Powerful, good feel and easy to change pads.

Sell both and buy some magura marta/lousies or formulas. Less maintenance, much lighter and even more so if you fit smaller rotors as they are much more powerful.

Why not try them both and see which ones you prefer? Then make your own mind up basd on that?

Either that or sell me the ones you don't want for £5 plus postage…

    Hopes this helps!

Juicys are a pain to change pads. Will be going for m4's next
