Do older versions run a different diameter hose?
I have a barb/compression olive and threaded fitting to enable me to shorten hose.
Cannot get the fitting over the outer of the hose no matter what I try.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I don’t think they are different diameters as I had an old bleed kit for my Juicy brakes and used the olives and fittings in that to shorten my Elixirs when I bought them. When I bought the bleed kit, Elixirs didn’t exist, so it’s nut like they were meant for the Elixir and not the Juicy.

Same fittings on all the brakes.

No they are not the same fitting.
    Poor quality pics attached
    Original fitting was one piece

Parts supplied to fit on shortened hose are barb , olive and compression nut. The hose is too wide for the nut to slide over hence the chewed hose end!

Humn, that doesn’t look like any avid hose I have seen on my previous 3 sets of juicy brakes. Has the hose been replaced for another brand at some point?

As for fitting can you get the olive over the braid?

If so you could try something similar to hope braided hoses where you neatly trim the outer sheath (black bit) back the depth of the olive, then fit as normal from there. Will see if I can find a guide which better explains it.

I thought about the Hope method as I have had the braided types on a mono before. Glad I’m not going mad, I’d not seen one either before today.

Non std hose and fitting looks like the previous owner Bodged to fit as the threads on lever are knackered to.
    New shimano deore methinks!
