Currently thinking about another summer holiday in Austria, but need some new ideas (we’ve previously found reasonable stuff in Alpbach and Bregenzerwald areas).

Has anyone any experiences of the following areas?:-

Ischgl – Looks very good for XC and singletrack. Good guiding options, but maybe quite pricy.

Ellmau / Wilder Kaiser – Had a day trip to the area in 2012 (looked promising). Also found one holiday company that operates there.

Salzkammergut – Popular region for marathon type events but unsure how much singletrack actually exists. Very pretty bit of Austria, some other tourist stuff (salt mines etc).

Any other suggestions? (technical XC rather than bikeparks)
