    has anyone used those ultra cheap gore tex jackets on ebay? and how do you tell they're genuine before you buy them?

    yeah that is a proper bargain but im after something cheap (as in really cheap!), and there's some £13 'goretex' ex army jackets on fleabay.

    They will often be damaged for that price, new stuff is very gucci though! I wouldn't ride in them because they tend to be a bit on the large and baggy side, plus they have no pockets which can be a pain.

    You have to ask yourself why they are ex-army. y guess is that they were sold on for one of two reasons:

    1) They were returned after being worn to death and then disposed of
    2) They got sold by the wearer because they were issued too many, in which case, the worst one got sold.

    In either case, they may not be as waterproof as new stuff.

    That said, the issue gore-tex is good. being quite light and reasonably long.

    yeah i know, ive got a riding jacket – i was just looking for something to walk in that doesnt cost the earth. i seem to remember a mate having one years ago and i think he was pleased.

    just wondered if anyone had any 'reviews' on them?
