I have a Macbook Pro with snow leopard, but today bought an imac 17inch intel core 2 duo which is running tiger 10.4.11 (old I know) (bought for my children) the seller was a genuine person and some of the programs on there are pretty decent and are not copies he bought the original programs.
Here is my question/problem ! Tomorrow I shall visit my local apple store to buy snow leopard so I can update the imac...I would like to keep the programs so I can either do a complete restore which would wipe the imac or run snow leopard to go over tiger thus keeping the programs, now if I want to do a complete restore how do I back up the programs to external hard drive ? Is this possible as I don't have the license !?!?
So mac geeks out there should I do a complete restore = loose everything
or
run it over tiger = keep programs
help please ??? many thanks in advance
