Are they just reworked 2009 x9 shifters? They seem to be similar in weight with a new slim body design. Just wondering if they are significantly better than the 2009 x7 shifters.

..but cannot really comment versus 2009.
I have some 2007 X7s on another bike and, I must say, they seem more robust than my new ones.
