    Discounted at CRC at the moment and wondering if the Strout 2.3 makes a cheap alternative front tyre to a 2.5 Minion.

    used the 29r version, tuff as owt, very grippy.

    Ditto i run a stout on the front of both my 29ers and a Nano on the back. Great tyre.

    good friend of mine runs them, although only has one on the back at the mo but sais Much more grippy than rubber queen, (he’s a very good rider too,)

    Run mine on front of 29er in winter -very grippy but heavy.

    Ta all – yep they heavy for a single ply tyre at 900ish grams for 2.3. I’ve got a prowler XT on the front at the mo so will probably move it to the back to make way for the stout. Alternatively the Prowler SS with its fast rolling centre line is very tempting for a rear…..
