So you only listen to one genre?
No, at least 2. Was my sarcasm lost?
Struggling with the definition of pop punk. Is it basically whiny voiced college rock?

The Distillers and Pennywise seem to have been missed, more punky than poppy but that's not a bad thing
Descendants, Liveage! or Milo goes to college.
Minutmen & fIREHOSE, though thats more pop/punk/jazz/ihavenoidea
Ramones of course. Should be mandatory at primary school.
Weezer are Math Rock
How any time sigs do Weezer manage to nudge in to their challenging edgy tunes then?
If you want Math stuff check out Sweep the leg Johnny or faraquet.
UK Pop Punk
Travis Cut
Vanilla Pod
Helen Love (kinda)
Look out for the "Thems Good" label sampler too

I thought Math Rock was just a label like geek rock, which i guess is more apt for Weezer. I will definitely check those bands you mentioned out though.
No worries mate, it's a geeky minefield out there.
Math rock as a term comes from the nerdy time sigs used and the consequent jerky polyrythmic music that ensues. It mainly came out of the Chicago free jazz infl post harcore bands but you can see ellements of it in Firehose and the minutemen as well as parts of Sonic Youth, Buthole Surfers and 'June of 44'.
+1 for Pennywise. You could try Ten Foot Pole and Propaghandi too.
Just been tagging some stuff to go on my iPod and noticed these which may fit the "punky in a poppy way" bill:
Jimmy Eat World (The Middle - top tune)
American Hi-Fi
Idlewild
poppy music with a vague "punk" noise
guns and ****
The vandals
Lagwagon
Snuff
rancid
greenday
operation Ivy
Punk (to me from my yoof, so that won't age me at all
)
Subhumans
Culture shock
ENT
Discharge
Crass
Conflict
Poison Idea
Dead Kennedys
Very early Damned before their awful pseudo goth efforts
Minor threat
etc.....
I was about to ask WTF is "math rock" but someone got there before me. How silly some of these labels are
but don't get me started on "goth"
Marilyn Manson is not goth no matter how you dress him up...

quite agree old bean, anything after the late 80's had turned into a long haired pastiche with "fields of the nephilim" on the back of it's jacket and a uniform. At which point true goth had died and become just another label for the lazy gits to slap on any band that wore a bit of black and had some eyeliner
how about "less than jake" and if you like abit of random trumpet action "Reel big fish" have some brilliant feel good songs which can also make you laugh.
Treat yourself to a bit of Snuff..... Or some Leatherface if you want deep lyrics... or The Killerest Expression if all else fails!!

Really really not sure of the point of this list. But there you go.

just illustrating that "punk" can be many different types of band, depending on your age/subculture at the time. To me stuff like the buzzcocks or the ramones was not punk in the slightest, and "pop-punk" is again a strange old label that'll mean many different things to many different folks.
