  • Anyone own a Kona Unit?
  • Seen a geared one on eBay and it kind of fits the bill for an itch I want to scratch?

    What’s the handling like?

I’ve got one, been mint. Handles like a bike, don’t really know how to answer that.

Had a unit 29er. Loved it. Nice steel frame, rigid upgraded carbon forks. Handling was fine. When it was stolen I replaced it with another steel HT, A 26″ Genesis IOID with quite similar geometry (long ETT). The spring of a steel frame is a feature not a bug 😉

    I’ve got a 2014 one, still SS but with some 100mm Reba’s.

I like it’s handling, got the wheel as far forward as I get it so it’s got a relatively short back end. BB is not low, doesn’t feel too high though.

This 2015 one is for sale for £650 or best offer – maybe a tad overpriced, but I like the look of it…

Love mine, run it 1×10 (I didn’t get on with singlespeed on big hills)
And 100mm manitou towers (the p2 fork with a 2.4 chunky monkey was nearly as capable/comfortable tbh)
And a gravity dropper makes it a very capable bike

Yep, 2013 Unit owner here (the one with the raw finish and orange logo).

Its my first 29er, rides brill, not the lightest, but fine when riding.

Mine is singlespeed and rigid (also running 2.4 chunky monkey up front)
