    Here

Has sold 3 or 4 sets of forks and always photographs them on a chair by his bed for some reason. Currently selling some 36 TALAS similar to some I had stolen last week.

He’s also sold mtb gear and admitted he has no idea of the value, and occassionally is “selling for a friend”.

I know, could just be being suspicious, but I’ve probably got every right to be.

ps – should a private selling going under the name of “Low Cost Solutions” arouse suspicions at all?!

So what makes you think they’re yours? I can’t see any identifying marks.

It would be a bit stupid to sell stolen forks with distinguishing marks.

Yep, I’m another Bristolian bike theft victim, 4th time in the past few years, makes getting insurance pretty tough.

Still, now we’re the first, official Cycling City, I’m sure the council and boys in blue will sort things out 😉

    Now you’ve lost me.

He is selling a pair of forks which are the same make and model as the ones you had stolen and therefore they the same ones?

Rich – now you’re making me suspicious, are you “Low-Cost-Solutions” by any chance?

I dont remember saying they were mine, I’m just doing the reasonable thing and keeping an eye out for my gear that has been stolen. It happens a lot around these parts, the police do little to help, but people on this forum sometimes can. If that doesnt sit will with you, go and read another thread or switch over to Eastenders.

So, how long was your steerer ?

Have you emailed to find out how long his is?

Where’s the rest of the bike, or does he specialise in just stealing forks and one pair of disc brakes?

He says you are welcome to collect from him.

Have you a bedside chair fixation?

    Have you been eating mushrooms?

    Err no.

    Where is the evidence?

    I can’t see it.

Or shall we lynch “Low Cost Solutions” on the basis that he takes crap pictures, and happens to being selling something that resembles something that the OP once owned ? In a city of C 400,00 people.

I’m with richpips on this – you can’t cast suspicion on someone just because they are selling the same model, you really need a little more evidence. SOrry to hear about the theft tho mate.

The description seems fairly accurate – more accurate than your average theif would care to do.

Perhaps it may be a much to intelligent idea but have you got a note of your forks serial number ? You could ask for photo’s and hope the serial number is pictured – if they match… If it’s been removed – ask why?

I’ve sold stuff on here for friends in the past and Richpips has bought/sold stuff on ebay on my behalf.
Ask the guy a few questions. You do know your steerer tube length/fork serial no etc don’t you??

ermm i saw a pair of these forks on a bike that rode by me in the street, next time i see the guy should i rugby tackle him? i’m wih richpips as well, i know your prob annoyed at your loss but come on at least need evidence.. I’m a geeky person and forever getting asked to sell stuff for people that i know nothing about! your evidence that thse forks might be stolen is that they are the same model as some you’ve lost but then you make a point of the fact you never said they were yours?

    …Priceless.
