Lovely area, we were sailing there last August. Can’t help with beaches/biking as were spent most of our time in the islands to the NE and only sailed past Maddalena.
What I can say though is that the food is lovely and not too pricey as is the wine (local white is great). Weather is very sunny but can be quite breezy. Water is fab, good snorkelling.
Lots of people rent RIBs for the day and go out to the islands to chill.
One piece of advice is to take Euros as apparently the cash machines run out of money quite often.
We’re off to Croatia this time but would have been very happy to go back to Sardinia.

Just returned from a first trip to Sardinia – loved the place and will definitely return. Didn’t find a bad beach (though many will be crowded). we went to Liscia Ruja Beach and to another near Madalena. Porto Cervo worth a visit just to see what bored billionaires do with their money.

I rented Bikes from Sardinia Cycling who were extrmely helpful, wioth well maintiained bikes, route suggestions, and bike rack rental – and a good range of bikes Here though again late July/August may mean lesser choice. Can’t recommend them highly enough
