I bought a stand from Edinburgh which lifted the rear wheel in the air for fettling etc which I found very useful but the weld on one of the feet has broken very quickly and I can’t find the receipt. What are the Andystands like? They look sturdy but they are twice the price of the Edinburgh one.

I ordered some last week. Should arrive in the next few days… hopefully they live up to their reputation.

Had something similar made for me by a local fabricator.

Photo Edit (now I’ve found a photo)

Have you considered one of these??

Perhaps not as stable as that Andystand, but more portable/compact.

Got my stands now and am suitably impressed. I’m using them purely as storage stands as I already have a Park workshop stand. The only stumbling block was that it didn’t fit one of my bikes which was fitted with LX cranks. They are fine on my other bikes with XT and SLX cranks.

Is it hard to spin cranks when doing gears, because of the stand getting in the way?

Can’t spin the cranks round when I use mine but not fussed at all as have a workstand for maintainence and only use the red stand when washing.

Looks pricey for what looks like 20mm steel conduit.
