I’ve checked the usual places but can’t find this – is there a hinge that’ll take an inset cabinet door (ie. face of closed door flush with face of frame) and allow it to open so the door ends up at 90 degrees but with the inside face of the door sitting about 10mm across the face of the frame? ie. so if it were hinged on the right and you looked at it from the end of the open door you’d be able to see 10mm of frame to the left of the door when it’s open.

It’d obviously need some sort of crank/cam arrangement but I can’t find anything that looks right.

Not sure where you have checked but try Hafele or Ironmongery Direct.

I’m more of a bracket man.

Sounds like you need a hinge similar to those fitted on kitchen doors. I know they’re mostly for lay-on doors, but can you get them for inset doors? When I’ve looked for specialist hinges in the past, I found Ironmongery Direct to be quite good. Having said that, I’ve never come across your type. They have “inset” Blum hinges on their site, but whether this “inset” refers to the door or something else, I’m not sure. Good luck! 🙂

You are needing the door out of the way so you can use a drawer the whole width of the cabinet? This means you cant use any kitchen style hinges ‘cos they would get in the way and what you want isn’t made.
You might get somewhere with Hafele 362.10.803 and jig it so the hinge passes right through the gable and the pivot is outside of the cabinet.
As has been pointed out hinges are designed NOT to cause the door to hit adjacent furniture when open.
