    Do you mean books that tell you about the principles of investing and finance? Brealey & Myers ‘Principles of Corporate Finance’ is a go to text for this kind of thing.

    How to read the financial pages published by the FT is a good primer too, although not in itself an investment book.

    All mine are on the shelf at home or leant to my neighbour as he is doing a distance learning course in financial investment,so I can’t remember other titles.

    If you’re starting from scratch then “The Naked Trader” by Robbie Burns is a good place to start learning about buying and selling shares. It has some basic strategy but also deals with the mechanics of investing, where to hold your investments and other handy hints.
