How excited should I be? What should I expect? Apart from maybe some arm pump?! 😀

Will be a half day coming from the ferry at Holyhead on Friday lunch time. Riding a Smuggler so not a full on DH machine but should be a good giggle anyway.

    What should I expect?

Strong winds and rain on Friday and maybe snow 😀
It was closed last weekend, should be open this week.

Don’t let that put you off! It’s a brilliant place.
Fast uplift, friendly staff and great cafe.

Bike wise, you’ll be fine on non DH,recommend running tubeless.
They have spare tubes in the shop.
I would have a Full face if your going to ride the reds and blacks.
Goggles are a must with strong winds.

I ride Antur weekly, absolutely love the place!
    You’ll have a blast! 😉

Be very excited its great fun. Start on the blue to get a feel for it and go from there. Pretty exposed if the weather comes in pack your waterproofs.

Awesome place, although if the conditions are bad it’s pretty wild. Enjoy the blues and reds as they are a decent warm up for the blacks. If possible try and see a local take some of the trickier sections as they were hitting lines I couldn’t even see.

    Very!

    What should I expect?

    Fun, and plenty of it!

    It’s not that bad.
Wrap up warm, as said it’s all exposed, no cover at all.

So I read on the website they have to cancel the uplift on days where there aren’t enough bookings. How likely is this to happen on a wet Friday in the middle of January?

I’m getting excited now! Had also considered doing the Marin trail instead, but not much difference in the drive.

I hope there isn’t much snow! Is there currently snow up top does anyone know? Temps seem to be rising a bit recently.

Keep an eye on there Facebook page.
With it being closed last week,i think it will be ok.
Best is to call Simon at the Centre on Thursday and he will give you all the info you need.

If it does get cancelled don’t do the marin it’s bore off. Head to penmachno. Much better but take your wellies…

Haha! I was brought up in the area so rode Marin & machno for years. I’d say the opposite, love the Marin, just don’t get Machno! Far too pedally for me. Each to their own though! You’ll love Antur. As above just start on blues and work up. Grading is not like trail centre grading. Also beware of trying to keep up with regulars esp if they are teenagers. You’ll brake a bone. Trust me.

Weather looks ok for Friday 😉
Antur rides nice in the wet and the wind is dying down in the afternoon.
    Should be good.
