The '4" is the new 6"' thread got me thinking: is anyone running 130mm forks on an Anthem X?
I'm wondering how it would work out for a mixed diet of mainly woodland single track with occasional trips to bigger, rockier hills/trail centres.

Don't believe everything you read.
Is the Anthem X frame warrantied to take 130mm forks? Do you really need the extra travel? Are you riding those trails you mention already, on your Anthem with standard travel?

IME Giant full sussers ride better with a longer fork than stock. Not tried the Anthem though.

To clarify: I don't have an Anthem but I am considering it (frame only) as one option for an upgrade from my hardtail (which is running the 100-130mm Revelations).
I'd probably run the forks at 100mm most of the time but I like the option of and extra inch of travel and slightly slacker angles for the steep downs.Posted 2 years ago # -
Ah - I see. Having the forks already, esp with the option of keeping the travel at 100mm, explains it. I read the question as a very expensive way to cock up the handling of a nice bike!
On the subject of the Anthem X, the X3 strikes me as a bargain way the get the frame (albeit without ProPedal) - what do we think you could flog all the running gear for, and would that go very far in funding some nicer kit to stick on?

As Glen says, you should think about getting the X3 and flogging the bits to get some cash back.
I've owned an Anthem with rp23, a Trance with Float R and Reign with rp2 - all Meastro suspension bikes - and there's very little to choose between them in terms of ride quality.
The standard compression tune on the Float R works very well with the suspension.
Edit to add that the Float R does have propedal - but it's a fixed 'medium' setting.
