This morning I am happily cycling into work and going along a deserted cyclepath, I hear a voice, from my phone! I take it out my pocket and it is speaking to me in Spanish, Paraguayan Spanish to be exact. I tried switching it off and ended up resorting to a reset, to no avail. It came back blabbering in Spanish.

It has set itself into “blind mode” where every button push was announced, fortunately someone who works with me and is yer actual Spaniard got it back onto English speaking and I sorted it.

But it has wiped my SD card, photos, videos, apps, music all gone. Is there anyway of recovering these? I have tried the various restore functions which are no good.

A pc based SD card recovery program might do it but I cannot recommend any. I would say remove the SD card now before anything gets overwritten.
