Just had an update option from 2.2 Froyo pop up.

Is it worth it and has anyone experienced problems?

I know there have been issues with people losing sms messages following previous updates.

My Nexus updated ages ago, no issues so far.

Hang on a couple of days and keep an eye on http://androidforums.com/htc-desire-hd/ would be my advice.

(It’s not what I’d do, I’d go “ZOMG eleventyone new firmwarez, geif” and to hell with the consequences, but waiting would be my advice.)

Very unlikely to be negative consequences with an HTC phone – they don’t screw up their firmware updates. Go for it – even in the very unlikely event of there being problems you can roll it back.

Just make sure the battery is completely charged before starting, as it may not draw power from the charger while installing the update.
