I’m looking for a tough, light wheelset for a 150mm travel 29er. What alternatives are there, other than a custom build onto a hope or dt swiss hub?

    thanks

It’s an exceptionally good wheelset, what other factors are you looking for?
    Lighter, cheaper, stiffer?
I just disassembled a ex1501 spline 1 (gen1) that’s done 3 hard years under one of our ripper guides and a bunch of ews races to salvage the hubs for a 24″ build. Aside from 1 dent, the wheel really should have been allowed to continue as is, it was in great shape.

nothing else im looking for as such. just trying to cover all options.

Obviously they are quite pricey so anything cheaper is good as well.

Given that they perform as well as Carbon wheelsets that cost much more, are more rock garden friendly, and run the best hubs available, I don’t think they’re unreasonably priced.

I’ve an 18 month old pair of xm1501 if you fancy a used pair, gimme a shout. Great wheels.
