Does the same sprocket fit the 8 and 11 speed hubs? Can only see listings for the 8 spd.

Can anyone recommend a wheel builder for an 11 speed? I’m in scotland but don’t mind where they are based.

Spokes in St Andrews will do it. I asked a while ago and their was no bother for then to do it

Sprockets are the same on both versions of the Alfine.

Nexus sprockets fit too – which gives you a bigger range, as they go up to 23t. The nexus ones don’t come with the plastic guard on them, but still work fine. I’m running a 22t nexus sprocket on my alfine 8 speed hub with a 32t front ring on my 29ers.

Spoke length question now!
I calculate that using an xc717 rim with an erd of 541 and 32/3 pattern I will need 256mm spokes. Sound about right? Spoke hole is 2.6mm, flange dia is 93mm and centre to flange is 29.5 and 24mm. Done the calc a few times just seeking some reassurance!

Since the hub is so large in diameter a 2-cross pattern is fine.
