My son is getting into mountain biking. He has done Cwm Carn a few times with me and he manages well. I am thinking of taking him to afan but wonder which of the trails would be best for him. I am familiar with most of them there but i have lost touch with which of them might suit a young beginner.
Anybody with similar first-hand experience?

Do the Penhydd (sp) at Afan first IMO it's the best one for beginners.

If he can do the climb at cwmcarn then most of afan should be fine from a fitness point of view. I'd start with Penhydd, then the Wall and then Whites (not all on the same day obviously!)

Did W2 with my 12 year old. He was Ok but a bit tired at the end.
