Seeing as the area you are talking about is only a few miles from Swansea/Cardiff/Brecon/West Wales I’m sure that you can find something for the family to do with a bit of googling.

About 10-15 miles west of Afan and you start hitting some of the most beautiful scenery in Wales (the Gower peninsular). Cardiff especially has loads to do, Swansea has plenty for a few days. There are loads of castles, beaches, plenty of stuff for kids to do.

The stretch of South Wales that Afan borders holds the majority of the population of Wales (from Newport down to Llanelli) so you have pretty much everything that a large population of people needs. Go north of that and you mountains with everything that mountains normally have.

Could I suggest Brechfa and the Pembrokeshire coast as an alternative? Quieter all round, and lovely riding too!
