I have just bought a bike with full X9 groupset – however it came with the 3×10 crankset yet I would prefer 2×10, but don’t know what my options are…

(FWIW I currently run SLX double and bash 22-36T and would like slightly bigger gears, so 26-39T perhaps)

Buy some new rings, put them on, adjust the front mech limiters, and go ride. You’ll probably want to fiddle a bit later on if the chain line is not quite right.

Different BCD between 3×10 & 2×10. You might be able to buy a new spider and rings for your current cranks. Call your local LBS to check.

The x9 2×10 looks pretty good. They seem to be going for about £100 on eBay as people feel the need to swap them out for Shimano. Look very similar to xx to me.

Sure you could find someone to swap with – lot of new bikes coming with 2×10 cranks now.

X9 2×10 here, the cranks are the nicest bit – look like they’ll shine up nicely once all the paint comes off!
