I have a Shimano M770/771 3×10 chainset which I want to convert to 1×10.

I have a Hope 32t retainer ring which I assume goes in the middle ring position?
To tidy things up I was considering fitting a Hope bash guard – I assume this will fit OK in the outer ring position?

Depending on the bike I’d still consider a bash to protect the ring/chain from rock strike etc though depends on the BB height and ring size etc.
