    I hate it.

Any program that demands I update the stupid thing as frequently as Adobe Acrobat reader should be considered a flipping virus.

Worse still, it behaves the same way on both my Mac and my PC.

Any other commonly-used program that requires so many updates?

Pretty much anything by Adobe or Microsoft. Acrobat Reader and Flash are full of holes for security exploits, so considering them a virus isn’t so far from the truth. Or so I’ve read. I don’t use either on my current Mac, anything that needs Flash gets opened in Chrome, just so I don’t have to install Flash and its endless upgrades.

Think you can open Acrobat files in Chrome too. Change the Open With option on the PC to try it.

The best thing I can say for it is that it isn’t as bad as Flash.

Foxit reader is a good alternative ( at least on a PC ).
