it is the act of a coward, a very slippy and slimy thing to do.
People who make threats don't particularly worry me.
It's the people who turn up, give you a good kicking and only explain why they did it afterwards that worry me!
This happened to me a few years ago coming out of a pub. Unfortunately for me it was a case of mistaken identity. Unfortunately for him he wasn't as Chuck Norris like as he imagined himself to be!

You should hear what I tell the cold callers from India! Calls I get maybe 2-53 times a week.
There's a pause, "Can I speak to the owner of the business please".
I don't actually bother anymore - I just hang up - but last year, the air was blue 'round these parts.Sometimes they actually ring in on both office lines, at exactly the same time.
I reverse the handsets and let them chat to each other!

When I had a burglary you offered me advice/quote for a cheap alarm system from the place you were managing last summer, but my old man gave me his old system for free otherwise I would have bought one of you.
I have a good memory for useless info...

Some of the posts here sound like Year 10 from school talking.
What's with all the bravado? and "he said it first" isn't really justification for using words that really you know you shouldn't.The fella that phoned Ton is clearly bad news and people need to be warned about him. If he wasn't ripping folk off, he'd merely be a bit sad. Doesn't merit violence, which in my view is never the answer anyway.
