I know someone here will be able to help…

I’ve got an undergrad interested in doing his dissertation on the subject of globalisation and TNCs. He wants to see if particular bands can be compared to global companies. I can help him with the globalisation/TNC stuff, but i don’t know much about how companies are formed, the different options etc. So, can anyone direct me to resources on the ways bands and musicians form companies?

Articles, examples, advice etc would all be welcomed.

Bono and U2’s tax dodge minimisation seems a useful place to start, but most of the coverage is newspapers and lacks real detail.

I’d guess most bands are signed to recording companies, which are more likely to be your “TNC”s.
The bands are probablly more equivalent to individual brands, within these companies.

Most are, but some form companies. Linkin Park, for example, is an LLC.
