    We’re appealing for old inner tubes to help end poverty in Malawi. If you can post them to us, we will ship them to Malawi along with lots of bikes. Tailors will earn a fair living turning the tubes into wallets etc. That’s got to be better than putting them in the bin!

    Anyway, I never waste a tube. Aside from one or two as a potential spare in case of tubeless fail, all the failed tubes get used up for all kinds of DIY / bike maintenance stuff, if not the classic chainstay protector. Also, not done it myself but someone else did on one of our rides… makeshift sling.

    Any discarded tubes I find on trails I’ll take home too and make use of them.

    If you ever take a break from reusing and recycling your own inner tubes, you might care to Google the Krizevac Project and check out the work they’re doing
