Can someone explain to me why, when ending an email, it is wrong to have a full stop after my name?

For example:

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

…is wrong apparently, and I don't understand why?

Well, you need a full stop after the final 'blah' to start with.

it's not just emails, your signature isn't a sentence, however, if you must have punctuation add a kiss 🙂

Alternatively he could be assigning the group a proper name; in which case "police" should also be capitalised.

That full stop is correct because Pie is an abbreviation for Piemann. Sorry no idea.

Because your name is not a declarative sentence.Your name is not an abbreviated title.It is not an abbreviation for name of a day or a month, nor is it an initial within a name. A shortening or abbreviating to a nickname does not qualify for one either.

The same rule applies to Mr and Dr.
