Looks like an old bomber, you'll need some turned up road bars to go with it.

Wow! Finished? On time? wonders will never cease! Kidding, glad to see James seems to be more on it lately. Frame looks cool so long as he got the TT/SS bend radius right - which so far as I can tell from the pics looks pretty good.

LOL, SSStu sell a bike?! There's a one way door on his garage, they're only allowed out for riding.

Looks nice, but that's quite a disappointing level of beard in those pics, and the "shed" almost looks like it's not made from hand-cut logs

Ah 'tis very nice Stu ... must remember not to ask what it cost

    Posted 1 year ago #
  17. singlespeedstu - Member

Does the trailhound not make up for the lack of beard content though.

Well there's the four legged fella with the dense black beard.

Good at rounding up sheep it would appear..

that extra tube will be good for a hanging merino jersey on to dry while you ride

my brother is doing a design degree and wanted to do something bike related. after looking in to making something innovative, useful or just plain efficient, he decided to make something for singlespeeds cos in his own words 'all ill have to do is talk bullsh1t about it being exclusive and handmade rather than well designed or made'

that said, your frame is quite nice lol

Do I have to be the one then? Is it all down to me? Again? OK, I'll do it. Here goes:

How much is it costing you?

    slowrider.

I can't see anyone talking BS on this thread.

well apart from the 'tollah up there.^^^

    joe.

If you look on his site it'll tell you how much it would cost you .

Sorry, that applies to all types of bikes.

    Attentionwhore

  29. Tricone - Member

Hmmmm.... Now I know why mine is taking longer to turn up than I hoped - queue jumper! I have been peering into the background of those photos but cant see any evidence of bendy tubes getting ready to become my new baby.

Why the sliders and not the HACS? Nice bike by the way - just in time for the SSWC 2010.

They always do. James has no concept of time.

This is my third frame from him and the waiting never gets any easier.

I'm not keen on the HACS system. I've seen how Ti EBB shells have distorted with a lot of use so don't hold out much hope of a smaller thinner tube not distorting a lot more.

Besides that the Paragon sliders have been faultless on both the other frames so I have a lot of trust in them.

Oh and 'tollah whats that saying about pots and kettles?

    Posted 1 year ago #
  31. Tricone - Member

Well I am told mine is only about a week away now so heres hoping.

I have gone with the HACS - it is supposedly clamping onto a solid billet of Ti so I certainly hope it will work out OK. Todd talked me into it and if you cant trust the person you choose to build your custom bike then you should probably have gone elsewhere.

What sort of fork are you installing? - it would have to be a faith to match all those curves and be a true attentionwhore.

  32. tazzymtb - Member

I know where you got the inspiration from stu, It'll look lovely with flowers and egochariot streamers on the bars

    Posted 1 year ago #
  33. singlespeedstu - Member

It's the outer tube that I don't trust to distort not the inner. Just make sure you don't over torque it.

It'll have a fatfork and Larry tyre on for a bit and then back to a suss fork. I already have a rigid bike which is far more attentionwhorey than is.
