Did a very wet, gritty, muddy ride in T’Peaks Sat.
Not a big fan of super-shiny bikes but it was in dire need of some TLC.
A bit of soapy action then reveals the true extent of the ride.
I’d somehow added a pile of scratches to the frame, rock marks on rims, a few more dings on crank arms.
All good fun – I suppose they’re adding to the history of the bike.
Don’t stay looking very nice and shiny for very long though do they!

I brought back some red dust from MOAB on my bike last year – So I try to not clean my bike as long as possible after that. Then winter came.

The last two expensive carbon things I cleaned for the first time in ages turned out to have cracks in them. 🙁

    I knew cleaning was bad.

OH cleaned his bike before we had a muddy ride out yesterday. I love him to bits but he’s a bloody headcase.

My last ride in wet, gritty Peaks resulted in a very matt top tube 😕

By all accounts the sand and grit around where I normally ride must be considered the soft southern cousin of Peaks grit….

love the sound of rocks hitting the bottom of the steel downtube as I bounce down Peak’s descents.
