Nice. Any bike that gets you out and about in places like that is money well spent.

Tracey, bike seemed very good. early doors yet. it needs big hills and rocks i think.

I’ve never seen a 29er that looked to need bigger wheels in the frame!

it feels very stable, possibly too stable in tight corners. i had a spill, got crossed up in a rut.

skiddaw was icy hard snow nobeerinthefridge, the scree path down to carlside was a foot deep snow, i had to use someone elses footprints.
just off carlside the snow/ice ended, and it was fun.
i had to walk/scramble down some of ullock. it is very steep and tricky.
hats off to anyone who can ride down that.

it was numbing cold in the wind, i had taken my balaclava off prior to the photo.

this morning, i feel like i have taken the whole of the english pack on single handedly.
aching knees/ankles/wrists and ribs (ribs from a tumble).
i had forgot how much mountainbiking hurts…. 😆

    Ton,

Apologies for slight thread hijack but is the rear mudguard on your bike something you bought as is or modified to fit?

It’s something I’ve been hankering after for ages: when I drop my saddle for the downhill bits I hear an almighty rasp whenever I compress the rear suspension.

    <insert joke here>.

The only way to avoid it is to put the guard so high on the post that it doesn’t work as well.

But I don’t understand why you’ve gone and put 24″ wheels on your bike?
