I am so sorry for linking to this, but this house design came up on my news feed, and there are a number of features pertaining to it that I absolutely love.

You may need to shower after clicking, but the content in this case should hopefully prove worthwhile.

I’ll take your word for it.

They could’ve done a hell of a lot more with that space on an £800k spend.
    Lazy tbh.

hope they’ve got good drainage! 😆 it’s alright, bit more like an office than a home though.

It’s OK. I like the sunken element of the design (despite it being a very uneconomic way of building), but the whole place looks like it was designed as a school, or academy 😉 not a home.

    Interesting idea, badly designed.

Hmmm! Not sure about that how much light we it actually get?

mikey – it was already a chuffin great hole!

Building a house, maybe, but an excellent way to build a reservoir 🙂

    Edit: gah, beaten to it!

Not keen either. The internal fittings are horrible as well.

That floor looks like laminate. Even if it’s real wood, it looks like laminate.

Looks like a business park with units to rent, rather than a home.

But as long as the owners like it, I’m sure they doesn’t care what the rest of us think 🙂

You are living in a hole. I like a view of the countryside, here you have a view of the other rooms in your house.

I will be interested to see what it sells for.

For all the promise inside is very bland… thankfully no need to hit the clickbait

Maybe so, but you’ve still got to tank it, make external walls retaining and put in suitable access.

Isn’t that one of the failed designs for the glentress peel 🙂

Love that fact that they have a roof gap jump

The bit I love is that direct links on here to The Daily Mail have been blocked as “we find it an abhorrent publication”. Nice one chaps, don’t mince your words 8)
To be fair, Saxon Rider did at least warn us of the Daily Mail content but at least those of us who’d rather not be giving the Mail any clicks won’t be doing so inadvertently.

The mail get money from your clicks, so you’re actually funding them by sharing links, not just giving them patronage.

So try and find alternative links to the same story (there will be loads) rather than linking.

Re the gaff – like it.

Well, they were trying to sell it for £1.25M, I suspect they do care now they’re down £350k!

I like it, but then I quite like industrial architecture with big open spaces and can’t stand this country’s obsession with little red brick boxes. Not £1.25M like it, but it’s still nice.

Maybe so, but you’ve still got to tank it, make external walls retaining and put in suitable access.

I presume that it being a big empty reinforced concrete tank at the start probably helped.

When the sun goes down and it’s time to shut the blinds, how long does it take? Is it like the forth bridge, where you just end up going round in circles opening or closing blinds?

    thisisnotaspoon

For £900k I’d expect electric blinds!

OTOH, with no neighbours and decent glass, apart from the bedroom (if you’re not the only people in the house) do you really need curtains?

I just dislike having a big black space on the wall, even if nobody can see in. My wife says I’m a bit weird about shutting the curtains, however, so perhaps it’s just me…

I’m like this. Makes the place feel cosy. Plus it helps keep the heat in.

Mikey – it is/was a steel tank – just buried.
No need to build retaining walls – they just cut a hole in the existing one.

An energy greedy horror. If we all lived in places like that the country would need another six Hinkley Points.
