    Folks,

I think I’m going to move from SS to 1×9 for my trip to the Lakes later this month, but I’ve ridden without gears for so long I’m a bit out of the loop regarding the process. My frame doesn’t have ISCG mounts, so what type of tensioner would I need? I see Superstar have a fairly cheap one – is it any good? And any other tips?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I use a HT2 BB. Does this mean I replace the space left by the removal of the drive-side plastic spacers with a chain-device?

    I’m frigging clueless…

You can either use a full chain device for which you can get some that replace the HT2 spacer. Or you can use just a top chain guide device, like the Superstar, ethirteen XCX or MRP 1x.

Which one will be appropriate for you depends on your gnar level.

There is no gnar level. I don’t even have a gnarometer.
