He just bought a Golf, but doesn’t like it because it hasn’t got leather seats for his precious little bottom, and he wants enough room to put a Chariot double trailer in the boot.

He’s thinking Audi A4 Avant or a BMW 3 series touring.

I suggested he add Merc C class estate, Merc B class and Honda FRV to the list. Leather is important and so is nice car-like handling (so SUVs are mostly out)

Octavia is out due to personal taste
Golf Estates are apparently rare as hen’s teeth with a leather interior
Passat Estate, A6 Estate etc are too big.
Volvo V50 is out also due to personal taste.

The Golf was about £10k so I guess that’s the budget but it seems to be flexible.

So he bought a car and then found he couldn’t fit the trailer in the boot – maybe before buying his next one he tests whether it’ll fit…

A passat estate would be ideal, has he tried it? good solid car, a 57 plate would prob be under 10k.

How much is he wanting for the golf? any details?

    Passat too big I think.

I’m guessing he wants his money back for the Golf, it’s got 2 months manuf warranty left on it, it’s a 1.6 105ps bluemotion tech with 6 speed box, built in satnav but the midline display not highline.
